Cirkle was born from a simple frustration: buying and selling within your own community shouldn't feel like navigating a sprawling, impersonal marketplace. Whether it was a neighbor trying to sell furniture before a move or a university club looking for a space to exchange textbooks, the existing platforms were either too broad, too commercial, or charged hefty commissions.
In 2024, a small team in San Francisco, CA set out to solve this problem. We asked ourselves: what if every community — an apartment building, a workplace, a neighborhood, a school — could have its own dedicated marketplace? A space where people already trust each other, where transactions feel personal, and where no middleman takes a cut.
That idea became Cirkle. We built a platform that lets anyone create a focused marketplace for their community in minutes, powered by AI tools that make listing items effortless. No commissions. No algorithms pushing sponsored posts. Just real people, in real communities, buying and selling from each other.
